Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel.  Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind).  So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me?  Pantser?  I think?  But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid.  And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly.  And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. I´ve sent a letter to a dear friend of mine in the US, putting a gift in it and what happens?! The letter was opened and the gift LOST!

A friend here in Germany sent me something about 1 1/2 weeks ago - it never arrived -.-
These incidents are happening way too often to me and mostly when I expect it the least or send something special :frustrated:

WHY ARE THESE THINGS ALWAYS HAPPENING TO ME?!?!?! :rage:
I mean, I pay for it!
If it happens once, ok, but not as often as it happens to me!

I so hope the books I sent the last week arrive at the addressee :disbelief:

Ich weiß, wie du dich da fühlst. Sendungen in die USA scheinen immer recht risikoreich zu sein. Meine Tante kann davon ein Lied singen - die schickte ihrem Sohn, als der einen Austausch in Florida machte, ein Paket zu Weihnachten, das erst im März ankam.
Als ich zu Weihnachten Karten in die USA verschickt hab, hatte ich die Angst auch. Aber sie kamen alle recht schnell an. :phew: Ich hoffe, dass es für dich auch noch gut ausgeht.

I'm so sorry. I very much dislike the postal service. I'm sorry they have a rough job, but they can be so rude when you're trying to be pleasant. My last experience with them was a bad as going to the DMV when it is full. I hope things start to clear up for you, my dear. :heart:
